The weather is good all year round!

The peak tourist season is in July, August, October, December and January.
The prices are therefore usually higher at that time. The off-peak season is in May, June and September.
During the Mauritian winter, which is in July and August, the west coast is very pleasant and
conditions for water sports such as kitesurfing and windsurfing are ideal.

People of Mauritius

The island of Mauritius has a population of approximately 1.3 million inhabitants.
The majority of Mauritians are bilingual, speaking fluent French and English.

Mauritius is well-known as a diverse society where racial harmony reigns among all the ethnic groups present:
Hindus, Muslims, Creoles, Chinese and Europeans make this island a unique place in the world.
In addition, Mauritians are known for their hospitality and their kindness.

Getting around the Island

The best way to get around is by car or motor bike You will then be free to go wherever you like
and you will be able to explore the more remote areas. Public transport is cheap, but the journeys can seem endless.

Taxis in Mauritius are chiefly found in front of luxury hotels and the airport and are a rather expensive means of transport.
You can cross the island from north to south, while lodging at the same place during your stay,
in approximately an hour and a half but circulation can be stressful at certain times, especially in the centre of the island.

North and East of Mauritius

THE WEST OF MAURITIUS

On the west coast of Mauritius one can discover local people and travellers throughout the year who live to the rhythm of the sea and the sun, in a very atypical and welcoming environment.
The Morne, a real little corner of paradise, is ideal for taking excursions and enjoying the breathtaking scenery. The beach there is one of the most beautiful in Mauritius and continues to be the preferred spot for swimmers and water sports enthusiasts alike; many tourists come here to kitesurf or windsurf.
You can also experience snorkelling, diving, water skiing, catamaran or any other water sport there in crystal clear waters.

THE VILLAGE OF COTEAU RAFFIN
Coteau Raffin is a small authentic village located in the south west of Mauritius, 5km from the famous Kite-surf & windsurf spot of Le Morne with its splendid lagoon.

It is a hamlet without a beach; you can therefore benefit from accommodation at a low price in this area.
La Gaulette has the largest shop in Mauritius regarding water sports of any kind (surfing, stand up paddle boarding, kitesurf, windsurf…)

One of the biggest Art & Music Festival , NOU LE MORNE is taking place at The Green Village, Coteau Raffin end of August every year.

Le Morne Brabant
Le Morne Brabant, a paradise for hikers at above 550m altitude, is one of the most spectacular summits of the island.
It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and gives access to an exceptional view and the discovery of breathtaking panoramas.

Le Morne Beach
The beach of Le Morne is without question one of the most beautiful beaches of Mauritius. Its distinctive feature is its imposing mountain and it offers a vast stretch of white sand, turquoise lagoons and a paradisiac scene with the setting sun.
